In this video, you will see how I can get an upper body Postural Restoration test to change by giving myself sensory awareness of my left heel and right medial arch.
Our brain understands our relationship to the ground (where we are, where we are going, in what direction) through foot contact with the ground.
If our brain isn't receiving proper information it could force us to use our visual system (looking down when we walk) or it could tighten us up (system extension) as a defense mechanism. Or probably both.
Neither outcome is desirable. We want our feet to sense the ground.
In the typical PRI identified pattern (left AIC/right BC) we lose sensory information of the left heel and right medial arch.
Re-integrating these sensory centers can help reduce extension based pain.
